Alex Fuller-Young – Executive Director, Board Member

Alex Fuller-Young is the founding Executive Director of The Right to Learn, a non-profit organization serving the educational needs of underprivileged children in Nicaragua. He provides day-to-day leadership of the organization and is responsible for the overall program, financial and staff management, strategic planning and development. Alex joined The Right to Learn in February of 2010.

Prior to working with The Right to Learn, Alex served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nagarote, Nicaragua from 2007 to 2009. He worked primarily as an environmental educator, building environmental education courses in rural, elementary schools while training teachers to use advanced, participatory teaching methodology. In addition to this work, he also led numerous community development projects within Nagarote, which included reforestation campaigns, community banks, HIV/AIDS awareness fairs, and youth sports programs. Alex also has experience working as a high school teacher and interning for two environmental non-profits.

Alex holds a B.A. in Environmental Economics from Colgate University.
