Montessori Method – Our Educational Approach

The Right to Learn is dedicated to providing the highest quality of education possible for the children of Nagarote. As School of Louise’s Dreams has grown and evolved over the years, so has its approach to educating its students.

Starting in 2007, Louise Brunberg began inviting veteran, Montessori teachers to School of Louise’s Dreams for the purpose of training its staff in Montessori Method. Considered by many to be a superior form of learning, the teachers at our school are practicing how to allow the children to guide their own learning. This has been an exciting progression for the school and is an ongoing process.

The institution of the Montessori Method in Nagarote is a revolutionary change. Traditional teaching methods in Nicaragua are typically characterized by rote learning. A goal of the Right to Learn is to eventually help train other teachers in Nagarote, as well as outside the town, in the Montessori Method so that they can begin practicing it in their own classrooms. We hope that in the near future, The Right to Learn will have the capacity to provide such trainings and seminars for other teachers outside of School of Louise’s Dreams.
